Periscope

Periscope (the space with a dance) is an event-led space, at the heart of the city, a gallery for short exhibitions and one-off events. Learn more about Periscope

Open Studios 06

Showcasing 27 studios and an exhibition of regional artists. Art work for sale. 17th -19th November 12 -5 pm. Private view 17th Nov 6-8pm. Lee Bank Business Centre, 55, Holloway Head, Birmingham, B1 1HP.

Organisational Development

In 2006/07 work will be undertaken to improve members’ services, extend opportunities to promote the work of regional artists and to develop marketing and outreach to recent graduates. Learn more about Organisational Development

Background

Birmingham Artists is now 19 years old! Originally set up in 1987 and formerly known as Birmingham Art Trust. BAT was originally formed by a group of artists who were concerned about the lack of affordable studio space within the city. Learn more about Background

Projects Programme

BA runs annual projects through Periscope its experimental project space, Open Studios when studio holders open their studios across a weekend to members of the public, the Window Project currently running at Birmingham Central Library, and an annual show for BA members and artists in the West Midlands region.

Classworks

Since 2002 BA has run Classworks a programme of workshops in local schools and funded by Birmingham City Council’s Arts Education Awards scheme. Learn more about Classworks
